Emergency & crisis advice

ADHD Doctors is an outpatient service and cannot provide emergency care. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or needs urgent help, please use the services below. They are free and available 24 hours a day.

Immediate danger to life

999

Call 999 or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency department if you or someone else has seriously harmed themselves or is about to.

Urgent mental health support

111

Call NHS 111 and select the mental health option to speak to a trained professional and be connected to your local crisis team, any time of day or night.

Call 999 now if there is immediate risk

Call 999 or go to A&E if you, or someone you are supporting, is at immediate risk of harm, including:

  • Thoughts of suicide with imminent intent, a plan, or an inability to stay safe
  • Serious self-harm, or escalating risk of harm to others
  • Overdose, suspected poisoning, or a severe reaction to medication
  • Acute confusion, severe agitation or psychosis
  • Any medical emergency such as chest pain, difficulty breathing or seizures

Call NHS 111 for urgent help that is not life-threatening

NHS 111 can connect you to your local urgent mental health helpline, 24 hours a day. You can also contact your GP for a same-day appointment, or your local crisis team if you already have their number.

We are not a crisis service

ADHD Doctors cannot offer immediate assessment or intervention by email, web form or voicemail, and messages outside our hours may not be seen straight away. Our hours are Monday to Friday 8am–8pm and Saturday 9am–4pm. Please do not rely on us for urgent help.

Contact your GP surgery for an urgent same-day appointment, or use the out-of-hours service via NHS 111.

Existing patients: for non-urgent concerns about medication or side effects, contact your patient coordinator or use the prescription request form. We respond within one working day. Our clinic hours are Mon–Fri 8am–8pm and Sat 9am–4pm.
