Occupational health psychiatric assessment

Independent consultant psychiatrist opinions on fitness to work, reasonable adjustments and return-to-work planning, for employers, HR teams, insurers and employees.

What we offer

  • Fitness-to-work assessments following sickness absence for mental health reasons
  • Reasonable adjustments reports for employees with ADHD, autism, anxiety or other conditions under the Equality Act 2010
  • Return-to-work plans with phased schedules and review points
  • Ill-health retirement and income protection opinions
  • Workplace ADHD assessment and treatment, often funded through Access to Work or employer health schemes
  • Regulatory fitness-to-practise reports for professionals (GMC, NMC, SRA and others)

How it works

Referrals are accepted from employers with the employee's consent, or directly from employees. The assessment is a 60–90 minute consultation, in clinic or by video, followed by a report within 10 working days. The employee sees the report before it is released to the employer, in line with occupational health best practice and GDPR.

Why a psychiatrist?

General occupational health services are excellent for most needs, but complex mental health and neurodevelopmental cases benefit from a specialist opinion. Our consultants can both assess and, where wanted, treat, so recommendations are practical and followed through.
