A structured clinical interview with a consultant psychiatrist lasting 90–120 minutes, informed by validated rating scales (DIVA-5, ASRS, WURS), a developmental history and, where possible, an informant account. You receive a written report with a diagnosis and treatment recommendations within five working days.

Yes. ADHD assessments follow NICE NG87 and autism assessments follow NICE CG128/CG142. All are carried out by clinicians with specialist training and are accepted by GPs for shared care.

"ADD" is an older term for what is now called ADHD, predominantly inattentive presentation. Current diagnostic manuals recognise three presentations: inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive and combined. All are assessed and treated in the same way.

Yes. Our consultant child and adolescent psychiatrists assess ADHD and autism from age 6. See Childhood ADHD and Autism.

Both. Video consultations use a secure, encrypted platform and are clinically equivalent to in-person appointments for assessment purposes.

All doctors are GMC-registered and our consultants are on the specialist register. Nurses are NMC-registered and pharmacists GPhC-registered. You can verify any clinician on the relevant public register.

Existing patients can order online. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy within two working days.

An agreement between us and your GP where we remain responsible for your specialist care and annual review, while your GP issues routine prescriptions on the NHS. It saves you the cost of private prescriptions.

Some practices decline. We can continue prescribing privately, or provide a list of practices in your area that have accepted shared care with us.

Yes, if you are registered with a GP in England, via NHS Right to Choose. Ask your GP to refer you to ADHD Doctors.
